That's alright then. Still there are some proper 'Erberts out there who'll give 'em a quick squeeze on the quiet.

Re: Expensive plastic bags

Orinje? I think you may already have a 'weird and wonderful lurgy'. Sue may have made a wise decision.

Yes...I agree with that. Why does cucumber have to be shrink wrapped in plastic?.
And we are encouraged not to use carrier bags(in Wales you are charged 5pence for every carrier bag you use) but our waste goes to the tip in plastic bags........they are not going to degrade very quickly are they?

Re: Expensive plastic bags

and about pawing the meat and veg........there was no plastic wrapping on anything when I grew up(the butcher sometimes had a fag hanging from the corner of his gob as he sliced the liver - with ash half an inch long)......we didn't come to much harm back then....anyway what is wrong with washing the veggies.......I peel most of mine anyway.

Eh? well....I know we used phallic shaped fruit and veg to show the application of condoms(when I was a nurse, that is), but I wouldn't like to be using the shrink wrap as birth control...it frequently has very rough seams....and holes too.

My on-line grocer - Ocado, takes back the plastic carrier bags and recycles them.

The worst for packaging ripoff is yet to come Easter eggs check the price of a bar of choc and check the same weight for easter egg then you will realise how much your paying for packaging

I don't buy Easter Eggs.......well not the big ones anyway. I buy the tinlids some other gift and they get either a bag of mini eggs or a Cadbury's Creme Egg...and they seem to have shrunk in the wash too!
