Re: Fireworks

I think I've been hearing the same ones as you Bernie. There was one heck of a loud one last night.

I only know of one. Maybe there are more but we just don't know about them.

Well I do know a few Sikhs in the area and they also celebrate Diwali. I'm just saying that we're all very quick to make the assumption that it's kids (and some of it possibly is) but equally it could possibly be a religious celebration.

Re: Fireworks

This country is becoming so very multicultural - not a bad thing --but at this rate there is going to be some festival or other every week of the year!!!

Time to ban fireworks except for organised, council run, displays

PS - just had a bit of browsing
BBC - Religion - Multifaith calendar
The number of potential excuses to let off fireworks is a bit mindboggling

I totally agree with you. Ask my husband what my reaction to fireworks is! When they start about three weeks before 5th November I start getting grumpy and use the phrase FFS a lot. I get worse and worse until it all ends.

Re: Fireworks

the simple answer to all this is BAN the explosive ones, that way NO one faith, religion can bitch, cos it applies to ALL. but that would be too simple.

Re: Fireworks

From my upstairs flat window which looks out all the way to Darwen tower I can see fireworks every night. It is time they were banned except for 5th Nov and New Years eve.

Having watched approximately £25,000 worth of fireworks the weekend before bonfire night me and the little'un curled up on BF night itself with a dvd and lots of sweets hehe
