It is now reported that a judge has given Gadd 3 days to sign the Sex Offenders Register. Why? This man is prevaricating again, as he did when he pretended to have a heart attack in Bangkok, and he should be made to comply with the Law right now.

The "3 days" is specified in the Act
Under the Sex Offenders Act 1997, as amended by the Sexual Offences Act 2003, all convicted sex offenders must register with the police within three days of their conviction or release from prison

I haven't got a clue, but it was reported in the paper that this was an option that could be exercised by the judiciary.....along with registration on the sex offenders List.
I recall reading something similar about one of the alleged terrorists who was released from prison to virtual house arrest.

What angers me most is that this creature, now he is back in Britain, knows that he will be under constant threat from people who would like to "dispose" of him and his ilk. He is too well known to sink into oblivion so at the first sign of hostility towards him he will, no doubt, demand police protection - and get it.

Forgive me if I seem a little naive, but what excatly does it mean to sign the sex offenders register, I've never taken much notice of this and therefore never took the trouble to find out, but for someone to sign a register, does this mean that if applying for a job you have to tell, or just what are the implications for people who sign the register
