'Gas supply problem' boiler doesn't work

I have a new combi boiler which was fitted in February.
Today it isn't working and the message display shows an error code 'E133' which the notes inside the panel says 'gas supply problem'.

I have telephoned the National grid who are sending an engineer out.
UK | National Grid

I post this in order to find out if any one else is having gas supply problems.

The new combi boilers need at least 17mbar gas pressure when running or they will lockout.

The gas man showed me how to re-set it, and advised me to contact the installer if the fault occurs regularly because it could be a boiler fault.

Why didn't you contact the landlord when it wasn't working. Isn't it there responsibility to sort it for you? You might get in bother getting someone else to play with there boiler.

Re: 'Gas supply problem' boiler doesn't work

My landlord's agent lives in Bolton.

She acted fast when the old boiler failed in February.

I also have the contact details of the man who installed this new one.

I was reluctant to bother either of them at 7am on a Sunday morning.

Since the error code 'E133' indicated a gas supply problem it seemed natural to contact the supplier.

PS Incidentally, since you have mentioned Hyndburn Homes, my former neighbour has recently had their new boiler condemned - was only put in about 3/4 years ago

New condensing boilers last no where near as long as the old combi's. You could get up to 20 years with old ones, condensing your lucky if they last 6 (read somewhere that the condensate rots the boiler from the inside because it is alkaline)

It all depends on the heat exchanger if it is alloy or stainless steel

How would the householder know the difference, or does it depend on the preference of the installer.

The installer should advise the house holder of the options.Obviously a stainless steel one will be more expensive.
