I had a big clearout of clothing a couple of months ago.
I used Age Concern Ossy - they collected at a prearranged time and were polite and grateful.

Re: Good service - Bad service

Went in the Broadway for a drink after the match a couple of months ago. It was a warm day, so I ordered myself a nice, refreshing pint of cider. Before I started drinking, I nipped to the gents and left it on the bar. Came back and…no pint.

Immediately told the landlady/manageress, but without much hope. This used to happen to me regularly in the Pickwick back in the day and the attitude from the bar staff was usually a shrug of the shoulders and a “what do you expect me to do about it?” approach.

However, I was pleasantly surprised when this redoubtable lady marched outside to the drinkers sitting at the tables, collared the miscreant, berated him loudly and extracted payment from him, before returning to the bar, pulling me a fresh pint and apologising profusely.

Now that’s what I call service!

I was in a hurry to attend the presentation, so quickly changed into the shirt, without checking the quality of what I'd ordered from them.

Tesco were issuing tokens that offered £2 off any £6 spent. Quite an offer I thought - until I discovered they had upped the prices on many of their items by as much as, you've guessed it - two hundred percent!

Good, we agree on something.

Yes, I am funny.

Have some karma, and the hand of friendship.

ah, well, I have met G and he was all of the things above, and scented too.
His cologne clung to me and I could smell it all afternoon....it was delightful.

You are very welcome G.
Maigret was a very interesting character...I am pleased to be confused with him ........as long as I don't have to wear the moustache
