We have categorically been asked by the beneficiary not to use it for political purposes, presumably meaning it cannot be used in The Accrington Observer, the Lancashire Telegraph or any election literature. Whilst I am perfectly happy with this arrangement I simply cannot believe that the picture won't appear somewhere as another piece of 'good news'.

It will also feature Cllr Horne, currently promoted as saviour of the village who is up for election in May...
You mean there was no place for the Laird of Rishton Towers at this shindig Ken, I'm shocked and stunned

There is actually, I've been specifically invited by the beneficiary because it was me who approached Cllr Britcliffe for the money first and was knocked back.

Fortunately, he is a very perceptive man, saw what was coming in terms of electioneering and made the event non-political by ensuring everyone got an invite, which to be honest is how it should be.

It'll give you chance to stop harping on about 13 years of Labour government and instead talk about how 12 hours of Labour rule in Hyndburn have brought the borough to the brink of financial ruin instead....

Saw it yesterday, I'm just glad that the picture got a wider audience, it's one of the best photos ever.
