Shirley you can't be serious?

Accyman, they fly perfectly well on one engine, in fact I somtimes wonder if they only build simulators with one engine, seeing most of our sim sessions are on one engine!!
Not tried BF3, so not sure, most likely I would crash, I do on MS flight sim....
And Dotti, your too nice, thankyou

Re: I don't know how Boeing Guy does it!

yeah i know 1 engine is fine but its nice to have 2 so you have a backup and i get a sick sense of satisfaction putting dark thoughts into nervous fliers heads haha lol

funny enough last nigt i was watching something where someone was telling the tale of how a pilot forgot to put the landing gear down and teh plane skidded like a frizbee along the airport forcing flight to be rerouted.Seems they can land without wheels as well lol

One of my old instuctors, an Ex BA 747 Captain always said more engines the better!
Of course the 747 has 4, lucky sods!!!
When we took our old 737 over to the USA, we had to go the old way, Iceland and Goose Bay (Hi Eric), there were moments when I wished we had two more!

As to landing without lowering the gear....no excuse, its on the checklist. Unless its defective

Airline pilots are taking legal action following claims they are suffering from a condition known as 'aerotoxic syndrome' caused by the inhalation of engine fumes.

Inside Out's Jacey Normand talks to solicitor Frank Cannon who is taking legal action on behalf of a deceased pilot who believed he was being poisoned by cabin air.

Inside Out is broadcast on Monday, 17 February at 19:30 GMT on BBC One North West and nationwide for seven days thereafter on the iPlayer.

At long last..... Aerotoxic.org were set up back in 2007 and have been trying to obtain justice and a change in the law and cabin air quality.
I believe the BAe 146 and Boeing 757 are quite susceptible to this.

Let's take this over to the smoking ban thread then I can say, 'I believe the air quality in jets is far worse since the smoking ban on planes because the airline companies save money by changing the air less frequently'.

Re: I don't know how Boeing Guy does it!

Sounds like a good idea, seriously when i worked in Morocco, for the National Airline, naming no names but there is Royal and Air in the title as well as Maroc, it was normal for the Moroccan Captains to smoke quite heavily. heck even in jet4you.com (the other airline I worked for out there) the Captains would not think twice of lighting up, we used to have a procedure for dealing with the smell, on the ground after landing, as soon as we exited the runway we would open both Cockpit windows (yes they do open, but only on the ground, i have tried!!!!) and let the wind blow through.
Ahh fun days indeed.
