I used to live on DUNNYSHOP AVENUE,does anyone know where the name came from?

I will ask the chair of the Lancashire Place-Name Society......Retlaw will be able to tell us when the name first appeared. I do know that there was a farm of that name in that area.

The authority on place-names, Ekwall, says it relates to a valley ( hop/hope) and a person called Dunn
