Last WW1 Veteran Dies

The last surviving veteran from WW1 has died aged 113. Henry Allingham died at the care home where he resided in Ovingdean near Brighton. Mr. Allingham put his longevity down to "cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women". RIP

Lest we forget.

He wasn't the last though as there are two left. Harry Patch is still alive at 111 and another Brit who now lives in Oz at 108.

Re: Last WW1 Veteran Dies

heard him on the radio and it made me laugh how at his age he could still hollar that alchohol, fags and fast women were teh secret of long life which sticks 2 fingers up at those who constantly tell us what is good and bad for us

good lad he outlasted a hell of a lot of carrot crunching morons

hes probably sat on a cloud right now smoking a fag , drinking a whiskey and and taking an angels innocence lol

Canada has offered her last surviving WW1 veteran a state funeral ..... might be a good idea for you guys; there are only two left alive, but there is still time to think about it ... who would you rather have to be honored in this fashion: Margaret Thatcher, or a veteran of the First Worl War, a war in which all who served were heroes?
