Moorhead = Accrington Academy
I got the confirmation letter through this morning to let me know that Moorhead HAS got approval to open the school up as Accrington Academy in September 2008.
My son starts there is September. They say they will be maintaining their specialism in Sports and will also become a center of excellence for Mathematics and state of the art ICT facilities. It will also become a sixth form as of September 2009. |

If it's an Academy then it's privately owned/run (not 100% sure of details) and they can do what they want but if it was still a state school then other local schools can object and make a fuss.
