Pedestrian Zone?

Is the roadway outside the Town Hall in Accrington a pedestrian zone or not? On several occasions I have had to stand and wait for lines of cars passing by. According to the road signs it's supposed to be buses only.
Any comments?

i thought the same as you .
but i have had some near misses with cars on that road ???

same here.  have you also noticed the state of the road between yorkshire bank,and find a phone ,it is in dire need of repair as it dips very badly i have nearly fallen a couple of times. why the council decided to pave it in red brick rather than tarmac is beyond me.

Had a few near misses in the pedestrian zone myself, people probably think that if there are no police there, they are ok to take a shortcut through. I never take my car into town as I live too close to justify being so lazy, as I am an able bodied person, the number of people parking in the disabled area during the day, in order to use the cash machines also gets on my nerves. ;D

i neally got run over as I was walking across that pedestrian zone and a driver came screeching along top speed across there missed me by an inch. He shouted at me for walking in a pedestrian zone

I was very confused should he have been there i think not  ???

saw a car  coming thro the  zone today so i sat down in front of it so it couldnt get passed  they didnt know what to do ;D

[smiley=cool.gif]   Nice one Happyone, saw loads of cars going through the zone yesterday afternoon, they either think that they can push their luck and take a shortcut through, or they are unable to understand simple road signs, in which case they shouldn't be driving. :
