Angry Post office

We have all taken a pot shot at the Post Office from time to time and its finances but how the hell they can be short of money when they wanted £5:05 to be sure a 1st class delivery lands on Monday beats me!!!!!!!!!

I went in there as I have a habit of putting the incorrect amount stamp wise on things. I was under the impression that 1st class was next day unless there was disruption. Alas I was sort of wrong.

What are the delivery times for First Class?

We aim to deliver most First Class mail by the next working day, including Saturdays. If you're sending mail far away, catch the early morning post so it's more likely to be delivered the next working day.

If I post my First Class item early in the morning, is it guaranteed to get there the next day?

Although we aim to deliver mail the next working day, we cannot guarantee delivery times. We recommend our Special Delivery 9.00am™ service or Special Delivery Next Day™, if you want to guarantee your item arriving the next day.

Is it just me who thinks they are at it or am I just paranoid? I was on their site and was bounced about a bit. So if someone who uses the web and its site gets confused (might just be me) then what about those that go on it on the odd occasion for info?

Do I deduce from this outburst that someone's Valentine Card may be a day late? Oh Dear!!

It's a very long winded excuse isn't it?

Did you have to pay the extra postage? If not it must be from an admirer.

Re: Post office

A few weeks ago my wife had a phone call from the hospital offering an early appointment and she had to take some powder to clear her out. The hospital told her they would post it that day, Tuesday, with two first class stamps and put a very urgent medical stamp on it and the scan would be Friday
On Thursday her condition has worsened and she was admitted to hospital. The ward sister told us that they would administer the powder that day ready for the scan on Friday.

The powder which had been posted Tuesday eventually arrived at our house on the Saturday. Blackburn to Accrington 4 or 5 days, I have staggered home on a Friday night faster than that.

Re: Post office

Well it did land on time. So I am now convinced it is a money making plot by the Royal Mail. As for it being an excuse for a late delivery not at all it was the costing that pe'ed me off.
