3 deaths in the UK out of almost 6000 confirmed cases. All of them were vulnerable and could have died had they caught normal flu (whatever that is)

Re: swine flu case confirmed from hyndburn park school!

The symptoms of swine flu are broadly the same as those of ordinary flu, but may be more severe and cause more serious complications.

The typical symptoms are:
sudden fever, and
sudden cough.
Other symptoms may include:
headache,
tiredness,
chills,
aching muscles,
limb or joint pain,
diarrhoea or stomach upset,
sore throat,
runny nose,
sneezing, and
loss of appetite.
Potentially everyone is at risk from swine flu because few people, if any at all, have immunity (resistance) to it.

I would expect that all the children at the school will have been notified and possibly the school will be shut for a while.

Re: swine flu case confirmed from hyndburn park school!

I think the most suprising issue here is that there are 2 reporters in Accrington covering local news. That is probably more of a shock than somebody getting swine flu
