Heard on the box last night that prison officers have now to call their charges MR and treat them with respect, you couldn't make it up. What plannet do these buraucrats live on. If these people want treating with respect they should keep their noses clean and stay out of jail. You can just imagin can't you. "I say Mr Huntley would you mind going back to your cell please, in your your own time sir, no rush, thank you"!!!!!!!!!

lets face it, i have worked at many places in me time, never been called "MR" by me gaffer, first name, last name, or nickname, so on that basis trash like Huntley will get treated better than hard working honest people.

It would upset the female prisoners being called Mister, although some might enjoy it.

How long before prisoners are paid the minimum wage? And then bonuses for good behaviour. Then maybe an increase for ‘long service’?

It has become so increasingly obvious that even a blind person could see it, but prisoners are getting better treatment than our service personal. And they risk life and limb for the country and that also includes prisoners.

This is not a new thing.

A friend of mine is a prison officer and she first mentioned to me years ago that she has to address prisoners as Mr. rather than using their christian name. They call her Miss.

The lunatics RUN the asylum.....respect to the prison officers they have a job to do........It's the ones who make the rules who should be commited and in some cases sectioned.

Looking at it from a different angle, maybe it's better to call them Mr. as it keeps a bit of distance between officers and prisoners.

Use of christian names could be seen as being a bit too chummy with them.
