Two faced Greg Pope MP

Greg Pope our MP?

Todays observer he says "I give you my promise that I shall do my best to work with the council for the good of the people"

Hmmm

Would this be the same Greg Pope MP who last year said he was going to vote for the war (fair enough his choice) then continued with.. I know this is against what the people of hyndburn want but it is what I feel is right (or words to that effect)

Hmmmm for the people eh Greg? Exactly how much time have you spent in this country let alone Hyndburn in the last 12 months?

Well said Kipax, i'm sure all politicians make promises they do not intend to keep. If we the voters elect them then should'nt they do as we ask, otherwise why be in parliment.

Surely an elected MP is supposed to represent his constituents thoughts and views in Parliament...or is that not how it works anymore? Pope's views would not have made the slighest difference to the Cabinet as it happens but still.....

I can never bring myself to read the MP's article in the Observer - you know it's gonna be a load of bull before you start! And yes - their job is surely to represent the majority vote of their constituents, even if this may go against some of his own personal views. He is our voice - if he doesn't stand up for what we want - who will?

Re: Two faced Greg Pope MP

What happened to your voice Shortstuff, These idiots are self blown, opinionated back slappers, who, where elected by the people of Accrington and her close communities.

Get yourselves organised, attend the local Council meetings and let the B******* know your not going to allow them a free hand at making a B******* of your town. You’ve got a big “sensible” gob for such a short one. Use it for something good……

When he knows he's doing something which the majority of his constituents don't agree with and is foolish enough to say so I think we should write and let him know what we think. Mind you, when I've done that I usually only get a stock reply in return but at least it lets him know how people feel.
