Re: Warning folks ...

another letter I received today ......

3 August 2017

Dear resident

A56 Accrington bypass between A679 burnley road and rising bridge roundabout - lighting and carriageway surfacing scheme

Highways England is responsible for managing and maintaining the motorway and trunk road network in Cheshire, greater Manchester, Merseyside and south Lancashire.

I am writing to inform you of electrical works due to take place on the A56 Accrington bypass between the junctions of a670 burnley road and rising bridge roundabout. The works are to repair an existing electrical fault with the power supply to the lighting columns in the area.

Works are due to start on or shortly after 7 august 2017 for approx two weeks. This will take place between the hours of 20.00 and 05.00 Monday to friday

As you maybe aware, surfacing works are ongoing along this section of the a56 Accrington bypass on the northbound and southbound carriage ways. The programme has been extended to carry out additional surfacing works, therefore you may notice more activity in the area for a further five weeks.

In order to facilitate and carry out these works safely temporary carriageway closures will be required on the a56 Accrington bypass between the junctions of a679 burnley road and a680 rising bridge roundabout during the dates and times stated above.

Diversions are drive down accy and go up burnley road.

Works are subject to weather conditions therefore dates may change at short notice.

It is possible that these works may cause some disruption and noise however using industry best practice we will do everything to minimise any inconvenience.
