There's a Stanley picture from the Peel Park days.

Ya sly owd beggar Cashy, I'm sure you said you wouldn't be venturing in such a place - what's up, did curiosity get the better of you - just popped in meself for a quick birthday drink. didn't stay too long as was packed but will definately go back when the novelty's worn off a bit & it's not quite so busy

Re: Wetherspoons

Called in at lunchtime, place was packed - no doubt some would be there out of curiosity, but it seemed OK.
Nicely laid out, comfortable smoking area all under cover, with decent tables and chairs and what looked to be a pleasant beer garden.
Noticed that there was security around so maybe they will keep the dross out of there. Prices up a little, Kronenbourg was 15p dearer than the Queens, I tried the White Witch, tasty which was about £1 for a half.
Will definitely be going in there again.

It's still packed, just been past, it was nice to see the bouncers on the door, not seen any anywhere near that pub in years

Re: Wetherspoons

Bouncers on the door = Bar, and a place to be avoided.

Definately not a pub, then.

You're only saying that because you know they wouldn't let you in.

Re: Wetherspoons

I would not dream of crossing the threshold.

Anyway, can someone please describe in more detail the decor in there?
