Oaklea meals ect revisited.

Finally got into the Oaklea for the first time on wed (been to a do upstairs but this first time in actual pub)

very impressed... most have been in so I wont dwell on the decor etc... nicely done and very bright with so many windows and the new extension.... We had lunch there at around 1pm and both opted for the lasagne... it was excellent.. best had in ages. cant say much more than that... deffo worth having

.. went for a walk and ended up back for a few hrs and found to our delight it was curry evening.. so around 7pm had some chicken tika which was up there with anything I have had from a curry house... enough people asking if we where alright without it being intrusive.. all in all exactly what you would want at both lunch and the curry evening..

we arn't pub dwellers and only go out now and then but would happily go back there if/when we do go out.. having never spoken to accyjay myself in real life and probably not going in regular in the future as per above then i can assure you this isn't a biased post as some would make.. just that I recall the reviews when they first opened and though I would post mine now finally got in there

endorse what kipax says, we went once a while back, great meal, very nice staff,we also only venture out rarely, but its a place we will call back at.

We went for a meal a little while back and the food was excellent. Just a bit rushed as we went at 8pm asked if they were still serving and they said yes and signs said up to 8:30 but apparently that was out of date and it should have been 8pm last orders for food. If we'd known that we'd have aimed for earlier but as I say, apart from having to rush it the food itself was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone.

The extension is very nicely done and nice and bright in there.

I nipped in yesterday for an end of term drink with my colleagues, I was most impressed, very clean. Also It's the first pub I've been in since the smoking ban, how nice it was to not smell of cigs on my return!!! Tho it was sunny and I ended up sitting outside with the smokers!!! The menu looked good we'll have to give it a try.
