Re: The Hilton Art Gallery
I think people, myself included, commented because we all wish you'll have a great success. I've been friends with artists as diverse as David Hockney to Gilbert and George, and have friends that both own and work in galleries. I was only saying what is the most common way for art to be sold in this country. From the exhibitors you have got already lined up, you have obviously found an equally valid way.
I'm looking forward to popping in myself, and like everyone else wish you all the very best with your venture.

Re: The Hilton Art Gallery
Yes, I too didn't want to sound negative, just from my experience of galleries this is an unusual model but I wish you all the luck in the world and I think it's fantastic that there are some new initiatives like this going on.
Ages ago I posted on here that the route out of Accrington's economic hole was to concentrate on the Arts and Culture and to develop a strategy that promoted the town to outsiders as a place to visit - new galleries being one good way of adding to that strategy.
I just hope that other initiatives start to spring up to support and enhance what you're doing so that there is a critical mass of activities.

It might not mean her website has been taken over by a seller of 'adult toys', it may in fact be a performance work of art, in which case it's very thought provoking.
