The Day You Were Born...
 

I thought it would be interesting and a bit of fun if Accyweb members told us of any newsworthy happenings that had occurred on the day they were born – apart from the very important fact that it WAS the day THEY had been born. Not just on an anniversary of that date but on the day itself. If you don’t know of any just search the ‘net.

I’ll start the ball rolling by stating the fact that on the day I was born that notorious couple Bonnie and Clyde were gunned down in America. Hmmm! not sure of the significance of this though. To save anyone looking it up, the date was May 23rd 1934 – and yes, I AM that old. There, I’ve admitted it.

It was also World Turtle Day, so I’ll take comfort from that.

I don't know what was in the news the day I was born...I was far too young to be reading the paper.
I know that Harry STruman was the US president....I know it was a Wednesday, but that is all I know about it.

As you know marge,I still have a computer that is steam driven, even so all I did was click into "what happened on 11th february 1947" and a list came up to tell me what happened on the day I was born.

Yes....I did pretty much the same for my birthdate
Must have been a slow day that year as it didn't come up with much....other than it was Wednesday and Harry Truman was president.
