All that drag must have affected his time, swimmers like cyclists wax to cut down on surface drag creating a more streamlined body, but waxing your rear end would be useless unless you raced in the nude which hasnt taken off due to the drag from appendages hanging down. Nowadays they all wear a body suite so they dont have to wax.

Body hair will eventually disappear by natural selection, women will always pick a less hairy male to breed with and men will naturally stay away from hairy women.
