Another Of Those Dishwasher Moments

Before I explain my latest dishwasher adventure I think I had better put on a little disclaimer, because when I told you about dishwasher adventure 1 I had quite a few complaints from people with broken household items and rather noisy dishwashers!

Disclaimer
The following thread should NOT be treated as a 'how to', guide and if any of you are daft enough to attempt this method for yourselves, please remember water and electrical components do not mix so under no circumstances insert motor, switches etcetera into your dishwasher.

Some of you were good enough to read Dishwasher adventure 1 if you aren't familiar with it it can be found here:-

How do You abuse your dishwasher

Well as usual this bit of experimenting started in the pub, I mentioned to the people present that the vacuum cleaner I have, a small industrial type, (anyone that's seen my carpets knows why), was causing back-ache because of the effort required to push the head across the carpet and I was considering getting an upright for ease of use.
Peter said that he had just got a new upright to replace his old Dyson because it hadn't worked too well for a while and if I wanted to repair it I could have it.

The Dyson was delivered to my house in due course and as had been described it didn't work too well.
After stripping it down to it's basic components basically all it required was a good clean.
The filters I rinsed under the tap and left to dry, all the plasticcy bits were now in a heap and the prospect of washing them at the sink just didn't appeal to me.

So into the dishwasher they were squeezed. on 'superclean' setting.
To pass the time while everything clanked around in there, I got a clean 2" paint brush and removed as much of the dust from the motor as possible an gave the components that wouldn't fit into the dishwasher a good rub down with a damp cloth.

The cycle finally finished and out came sparkling clean silver and green components, a short while re-assembling (and searching the house for the filter that had mysteriously disappeared, that damn cat again!).

Hey presto! one working Dyson, Anybody got any ideas on how to remove a two inch layer of mud from the inside of a dishwasher without actually having to involve physical effort?

What a brilliant and quick reply, though I won't take up your suggestion as that could turn this thread into accywebs version of 'Never Ending Story'!

Please read, copy & print disclaimer and stick to dishwasher door, (a six inch nail should hold it securely!).

Bloomin Hek ! Just had a dishwasher moment. Poured car 'Wash 'n Wax' into my rinse compartment .. well, 'twas the same coloured container ....

Can't wait to see how everything turns out.

Guess there is going to be some drinks sliding through fingers at Christmas, and sprouts sliding into next door's garden ...
