Smile Childhood Summer Holidays.

As we're on our way towards summer its got me thinking about holidays past. Our family usually headed off to North Wales, my mum and dad, five kids and a large hound all crammed in to a Morris Traveller (this was in the seventies) with a trailer and roof rack piled high. We always went camping and the smell of bacon cooking on a gas stove outside in the morning hailed the start of another days new adventures. The smell of a tent still takes me right back. Anyone else have any stories from from childhood holidays? What brings the memories flooding back for you?

But seriously ... there are so many things: green tomatoes ripening in a drawer, donkeys, sunburn, fishing for crabs with mussels on a string, a whole half crown for myself, sand in everything, the train on Southend pier ... All the memories are still there; maybe I'll organize them. But for now, forgive me if I put thoughts of summer on hold until the snow goes
