Subject: Study visit to Brussells
From: "Benson Gordon" <[email protected]>
Date: 22 Aug 2003 12:37:00 -0000

Hi
We have had  a number of enquiries, however because some of you are on holiday
we have extended the deadline to 9th September, please reply to Paul James.
Thanks
Gordon

Hi
There are a number of major changes happening in Europe over the next few years
that will effect work,  to help our staff understand the changes and how the EU
operates, we are to arrange a study visit to the EU in Brussels. After
discussion with a number of other officers we have decided to open it up to all
Lancashire Local Authorities.
The study visit to the European Union will between Thursday 4th and Friday 5th
of December, we will fly out on the Wednesday evening and fly back on the
Saturday or Sunday, depending on your preference.

The EU has approved our visit and will make all the arrangement with the
various departments including arranging transport between venues and providing
lunch on the Thursday and Friday.

The draft schedule should include
An introductions to the European Institutions
A presentation on the future of Europe
Enlargement
Information and Communications
Regional policy
Visit to the Desk Officers for Objective 2 and 3 for the North West
Transnational programmed
DG Regio(State Aids)
Lancashire County Council Brussels Office.

The above itinerary can be adapted to meet specific needs, we also intend to
leave free time for people to make there own visits to MEPs or other EU bodies
if they wish.

Not going to ask how you got that!

Another jolly at the taxpayers expense I presume?

Why can't they just send them on course.

Better still, bring in a "troubleshooter" to whip the whole darn lot of these "Top Bods" into shape.

Council Administration Stinks!

I'm definately impressed - what a good thing owning hyndburn.co.uk must be. Do you get much post like that?  Do you ever reply? That could be fun to set your email up as [email protected] and send a reply stating that you just think it is a waste of money.

Set up an email to get mail. Excuse me..??

Somewhere presumably theres a g.barton and other names and someone somwhere has decided there at hyndburn.co.uk  .Also I use to run a script on accrington-web.co.uk when I owned that and I gave away hyndburn.co.uk emails.. an automated script so people just put in the name they want and an email redirect was setup...so theres lots of hyndburn.co.uk emails in use... Anything else (such as barton) drops in my mailbox

I ahvent setup any email.. its them silly buggers getting the address wrong...

Setup an email to send mail as [email protected] , that way the person who wrongly sent you this will think they are getting a genuine reply. It could be quite amusing.
