"Thank you very much indeed"

News presenters are getting on my wick for the number of times they are overthanking each other. I know that 24 hours news channels take some effort in filling the time but this expression is so very frequent that it is becoming an irritant. I am all for politeness but this is being overdone.
Another thing --- the standard of news presenters has dropped since there is need for more of them --- to many "ughh 's" interupting their narrative. Am I the only one who is getting irritated?

Its easier to read a news paper than watch the news anyway. Maybe you could volunteer to show them how its done. I was tempted to show my local chippy how to actually wrap up food as they dont seem to realise that thats what the big pile of paper is for.

The "uh"s and the "er"s irritate me too.

I once noted in an interview how many times the person being interviewed said "you know" and it was incredible.

Like, used to count how many times Trevor MacDonald tripped over his words once someone pointed it out (a cult seemingly).. go on .. do it ... drives you crazy.
