There Are Some Foods That Need Mustard.

I usually buy the blow your head off English Mustard.

My local store moved everything.

I bought some Heinz Mustard in a 'new' squeezy bottle that sits on it's top to allow everything to drain towards the nozzle.

I've used it twice, now, on my third time all it did was make a horrible farty noise and issued forth no mustard.

I have to admit, this mustard is worse in flavour than the American style mustard favoured by most hamburger stalls.

Just now, it issued forth absoloutley nothing, I removed the top, looked inside and well what do you know?

Most if it was stuck to the sides, I must say, if I'm going to be ripped off for flavour, at least I aught to be able to empty the container.

Re: There Are Some Foods That Need Mustard.

Different types of mustard have different viscosities. Perhaps it`s thixotropic, give it a shake and see.

I use mustard a fair bit in cooking......I buy Colmans Dry Mustard...this can be mixed with water to make up a mustard paste....but mainly I use it dry.......mixed with flour for coating meat before cooking. I also put it in dumplings for beef casseroles

I don`t know many big words, but I saw a chance to use two in one post, so I took it.

I like the French whole grain stuff on sausages etc. And like Margaret I use the powder in cooking.

I saw that squeezy bottle in the supermarket and thought how stupid to put something like that in a pack where the nozzle will bung up and get mucky in no time.

Back to the drawing board methinks.

I use wholegrain for some things...Mustard Mash, and I do a mustard sauce for Pork chops that has whole grain mustard in it.

Coleman's mustard powder mixed with milk and applied to Black Puddings.
A little slice of heaven.
