NOT accrington but thought I'd post as its a good opportunity

OK, so its in Cheshire and a fair old trek each day but the potential to start a really solid career in technology in a blue chip company don't come up that often. The qualification requirements are not crazy high , its really about aptitude rather than academic skills that count.

Are you interested in developing a career in technology in either a technical or business role? If so, we have exciting opportunities to join the IT organisation of Barclays Bank. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in gaining qualifications, while receiving on the job training to enter our 2014 Technology Apprenticeship Programme.

Our Technical Apprenticeship Programme is everything you need to build a really successful career. Over two years you’ll benefit from personal development and training tailored your individual job role. You’ll spend the first year being supported through either a business or IT NVQ Qualification with our local training provider as well as developing your skills. The second year will allow you to specialise and develop your expertise in your new skills before moving in to a permanent role.

Today’s apprentices will become the backbone of our company and this programme will help to develop the next generation of highly-skilled IT and business experts - a huge investment in our future.

Current starting salary is £14,000 plus benefits. You will also receive 25 days paid holidays plus Bank Holidays.

What are we looking for?

· Someone who is motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and dedicated to achieving results and high standards
· Good communication skills
· A genuine interest in a career in an IT environment
· Commitment to a two-year learning programme
· Ability to travel to Barclays Technology Centre Radbroke in Knutsford, Cheshire
· You must have a minimum of five GSCE’s including English and Maths, Grade C or above (or equivalent) to apply*

*Please note if you hold a degree level qualification you will not be eligible for this scheme
