I'm glad this thread has come up again because I'm going to vote for Hollands Pies once more, it's been going for 150 years and they still haven't got a clue how to treat or motivate people, the same management for years and it's going nowhere except out of Baxenden.

You can add Hallmark (former hambeldon studios) and Gilbrathes to the list. Both treated my dad very badly.

Airtours (or MyTravel, whatever you want to call em) are still in business - just!
Problem all started when they bought firms and also change their name, thats why some of the shops have been done up and still have their old name of Going Places and some shops are still the same. All very confussing!
Wouldn't book my holiday with them if i was you or any other firm conected with them cos you might find your holiday gets cut short or you don't go at all!

I wouldn't know about working at Hollands Pies - but whatever the new ingredient they seem to have been using recently has definitely improved the taste! I heard they were going to change the name to Sweeny Todd Pies!!!???

The chances of the "New Ingredient" that you talk about being added to the pies in my opinion would have been impossible but the food waste skip it's been said may have been a little fuller lately.

No, that's just the stuff that missed the skip and had to be swept up off the floor....

Re: Not good firms to work for

Didn't see this thread at afirst - but can I just add my vote for Time computers. Its is true what another poster said. They treat both staff and customers like ****e, their computers are full of **** components and dont even undergo any quality control testing before being sent to customers. Their customer service is horrendous at £1 a minute to speak to someone who doesn't know much more than the customer re:computers. We were told to not worry about solving the problem with the customers computer but to take as many calls as we could. I walked out after 6 months for moral reasons (and the pay was crap too....!).

Re: Not good firms to work for

Only just seen this thread, so I will add Sussex Indpendent Financial Advisers to the list.

If any of you are planning to move to the Eastbourne area, steer well clear of this company.

I left there in March, and within a couple of months the complete complement of staff had changed (except the directors, of course).

One of the directors is a bully, and he can't work out why he has such a high turnover of staff...
