Re: Not good firms to work for
On a positive note, can I recomend Cranberry coachways please! I came north less than a year ago, and was offered employment by the above company. The owner Christine has been brilliant and she has helped financially and with moral support to help me "fit in" with you northerners
It has been support from her, Willow and my friends on the Accyweb that has given me my best year ever!!
I can appreciate that some companies treat their employees with distain but I have been one of the lucky ones

Cardboard Box Co, Clayton - millionaire owner treats people like**** and expects you to work like a dog, humping heavy and awkward board around, constantly on your back all day, every day

Re: Not good firms to work for
i have to agree with time computers as real bad employees - we take time to solve a prob and then we got questioned as to why we were on a call for 10 mins - even if it was durin the call!!!
airtours was ok - i used to work for the helmshore branch as a temp and they treated us guys like crap. i used to consistantly get top targets for the team i was on but 6 months later they released me sayin they did not need me any more.
accy superbowl - the mangement there were good but the managin director just did not have a clue how to keep the good staff there - stop payin minimum wage to ur managers for starters!! if u want a good bowl u have a spend a lil - we used to do anythign to avoid spendin and gettin bollocked from the operations manager.
but there are some good ones - i enjoyed my time at wickes in blackburn and white arrow too even if they did give me the late shift and a crappy van

Which half of your Father or Mother-in-law is southern? lf you've been married more than once and had the misfortune to have another southern in-law, l appologise.
Or are you perhaps a polygamist and there's a whole gang of 'em?

Re: Not good firms to work for
Wow, I have worked for 3 of the firms on the list already.
Worked at McD's, lasted 6 days, won employee of the month and got a long service award for that.
Worked at EXpress Gifts, Affectionately known by some as EFG. See if you can figure out what the F stands for.
Worked a Time computers - that wasnt great but I was in one of the escalations teams, (there is more than 1), and we had a good supervisor.
Lets see now - I think I;ll send my CV into Hollands Pies - Cant be as bad as your making out......

You don't need a CV to get a job in manufacturing at Hollands just 2 arms and 2 legs, it helps if you have a criminal record also and that's not a joke.

I worked at Time computers in simonstone in the Despatch dept, just as they took over tiny.
I used to despatch the repaired machines and there was that many coming through that i complained to the management about only having 2 of us one track with about 20 -25 machines coming down the track every minute, and we had to pack them, print labels and pallet them.....they ended my contract because i complained...i feel sorry for the people that are doing that job now!
There was machines under the track because there was no room.......and even doing overtime never cleared al the repaired machines..............what a joke!!
