I'm curious about the triangular thing on the left side in No. 9. A monument to all their fallen brethren - the cows that is?

Its a trig point (triangulation Point) used in conjunction with other trig points by surveyors to determine heights, locations, and stuff, don't fully understand how its used. but on the top is a brass inlay for equipment placing, I have come across others on Longridge Fell and Pendle Hill.

I am more than sick, I have become musical with it, coughing, spluttering, blowing my nose, and when I sneeze, it is now coming out of my ears.
