Accrington Pipe Band
Hi, here is a very rare view of the old Pipe Band walking down a street in Accrington. I wonder if anyone can recognize the street?
Just look at the woman's dress and hat in the bottom right of the photo. How times have changed!
Everyone should recognize the location of the second photo.

Second photo - they've tarmac'd the road.....I don't think those guys on the zebra are to impressed though; they're definatly out looking for trouble.

Dont know where the first one is, second one blackburn road when the yorkshire bank was the penny bank. They would think you were simple if you went in to deposit a penny now.

hmmm... i didn't know macdonalds existed then but in the second photo the street lamp next to the zebra crossing looks remarkably like the golden arches, was there a drive through restaurant just out of view?

Just a suggestion, if you want to use pics as a guessing game, change the title of pics to something else!! (ie grangelane1897.jpg) its no fun otherwise!

Wellington Street it is!
YES!!!!!!!!
Well done! If you imagine you are stood on Nuttall Street, looking up towards Manchester Road, you can see, on the left hand side, the top block of Wellybob Street and at the other side, is the outline of what once was The Tramway pub.
The lady you can see in the bottom RH corner is actually stood in front of what I always knew as Shuttleworths printers, but is now flats.
Nice one!
