Fish Market

Hi, here's a view many of you may NOT remember. Its the back of the Market Hall, showing the old fish Market and then we have a photo showing the Bramwell family, photo taken mid 50's I believe. The Bramwells of course are still on Accrington market and have in fact been here since the late 1880's.

I didn't think the nice girls went out with their rollers in??? Well if they did they wore a headscarf??

Did you go to the Morts or Knowlemere Street or even Accy Con?? I remember getting my first pint in the Australian Inn (near Bull Brig), and then on to the New Brewery, before going up Knowlemere Street. We were real bad 'uns...even smoked as well!!!!

Ahhhh...so that's where you worked!!!!

I was not far away to Allspeeds....with my mate Freddie Gorton...and others who shall remain nameless. Mind you that was 1965 ish.

Imagine young girls going OUT of Accy to such places...I use to go down Burnley MECCA on the occasional Sat night too

Yes, first the Load of Mischief, and then the Hare & Hounds....Bad Lads...all of us, Then downtown to the Old Band Club (as it stayed open until 5:00), always wondered why I couldn't remember much about Xmas Eve!!

Much better now as the wife has me under control (she's from Accy as well).
