Old Dance Hall

A member was asking if the Arcadian Ballroom was still functioning. Reckon the answer is no. Does anyone besides me remember when it was called " Madam Butts" ?

It's also been known as John Taylor Dance Centre .

When I was an attendee in the 50s, my parents' generation caled it 'Butts'

Always known as Knowlemere St to my crowd but that was a couple of years ahead of you - that is where I first met you know who

John to us it was the Arts - halfway between Arcs for Arcadian and Hearts.

In the 60,s was run by a guy called Clifford (Cliff).Had a classic soft top car,he was getting on a bit even then.I think he used to live round back of argyle street cant remember what street was called.
