It's on the flat...so it could be on Abbey Street or on Church Street, could be anywhere though, Blackburn Road, Whalley Road (only at the bottom). I'll plump for Abbey Street

A few of you are in the correct area of town. Its actually Peel Street and its the site of todays newsagents.

The Peel Street location is/was almost impossible to get! However, a cursory glance at the piccy suggests that this is primarily a tobacconists....the advert above the door is for ciggy's at 4d for 10. Look closely, however, at the newspaper billboard to the right of the picture....whats it say...."Budget Special"! The shop was - and is - a newsagents/tobacconists!

I think I'm right in saying - and I'm open to challenge - that all budget speeches since the 19c - have been made by the Chancellor on a tuesday. Newspapers - even in the early part of the 20C - published late edition Budget details.....and hence thats why I think this piccy was taken on a tuesday evening.
