Some pics from a weekend in the Lake District.
1. On the cliffs of Whitehaven. 2. Whitehaven again from the shore looking towards the harbour and where pic 1 was taken in the background. 3. Crummock Water. 4-7. Some very nice (if obscenely expensive) cars on the car park of Honister Slate Mine. 8. The best I could get with my gear, but the RSPB had some very high powered telescopes where you could clearly see an Osprey (follow the fence to where it meets the trees and up slightly). 9. Ullswater steamer. 10. Ullswater Lake. |

Love number 10...it gives the sense of a huge sky and the solitude.
I have never been a fan of the lake district. It has always rained when I have gone...and that puts me off. It reminds me a lot of Wales...that is not a nice place to be when the mist comes down either....I am sure the Lake district is beautiful when the sun shines...it just never has for me.
