Fluorescent tube light
Has anyone got any suggestions, the fluorescent tube in my bathroom stopped working the other day - I replaced the tube but it still didn't work. Today I've replaced the starter switch, still nothing - seems dead as a dodo, any advice would be appreciated, thank you :)

Re: Fluorescent tube light
If it was my house I would get a qualified electrician if I’d changed tube and starter and still no light.
I don’t suppose there is a separate bathroom fuse, or is there? |
Re: Fluorescent tube light
As above, may be time to get someone in (if your unable to do this yourself).
The only other thing to be in there is usually the transformer and some wiring. If your not able to test for live on the input with a multimeter etc (do NOT use one of the stupid screwdrivers with a neon) then you will need to get someone in that can sort it for you. |
Re: Fluorescent tube light
Have you checked that there isn't a breaker tripped in your distribution box? I have seen installations where bathroom power/lights are fed from a dedicated breaker.

Re: Fluorescent tube light
Thanks for all your replies, I think you're probably right about getting someone to have a look at it - don't feel confident messing with electrickery, I don't know if there's a separate bathroom fuse - lived her here a long time & not had this problem before, maybe it's the actual housing unit that's gone. Time to look through the yellow pages methinks :)
