Thumbs up Damp Course Needed?

I have lived in my mid-terraced home for the past 20-odd years without much problem. However I have noticed a limited amount of dampness has appeared under my back room window which may well indicate I need a damp course. Any builders out there who could offer me advice/assistance, etc?

Re: Damp Course Needed?

If this has just appeared its more likely to be penetrating damp, due to a problem with your outside stone work ,pointing, rendering.Or if you have changed your levels outside as in your flagging or tarmacing in the back garden it may well be rising damp. So have a good look at the fabric of the building outside around the site of the damp and also take a good look at the window itself.Hope this helps

You may have a problem with a conventional damp course Stumped if your home ain't brick built, you go down the road of electro osmosis, I'm sure if you look in yellow pages you'll find some body who will give you the best advice
