Driving Advise.

Just a little tip for those that may not know, From my experiance there are a quite a few people who need a reminder.

eastgate accrington - Google Maps

The above link should show the junction that you would turn right into Home Bargains, Netto Ect or go straight on for Avenue Parade, Burnley Road.

However I see a lot of people in the right hand lane go straight on.

So this is a little reminder which may help prevent a crash in the future, the right hand lane as the link and ARROW on the road show is for right turn only and if you wish to go up avenue parade / burnley road keep in the left hand lane and filter accross after this junction.

So long as you see them why worry?

No I see them.

But seen a good few near misses. (drive down it every day).

Seems to be the old drivers & females that are the worse.

The mark of a good driver is to expect the unexpected (everyone is not a local) and above all you need to learn TOLERANCE.

Like wot I do innit.

Re: Driving Advise.

It's called queue jumping, you see it all the time. Those saved seconds must be precious to some people.
You see a lot of it on the bypass in Haslingden, cars shooting down the outside then diving in at the last second. I like to watch in my mirrors it's good if you can time it right many is the time i've had to carry on to Rawtenstall cos i've stopped someone getting across.
Must say the mrs tends to shout at me if she is in the car though.

Re: Driving Advise.

If you are first in teh Q then just plant your foot hard down as you set off and there will be no issue!

seriously though, I know what you mean but it should really be a straight on and right turn as the next lights allow you to settle into the RH lane for either rights up avenue P, burnley Rd etc.

Re: Driving Advise.

While we're offering driving advice - it's worth mentioning that you should all be careful on the mini roundabouts in Great Harwood. The people who either live there or use it as a through-route don't know how the priority system works. And even the ones who aren't driving BMWs or Audis don't bother to indicate...

Especially infuriating for me as I live right next to one...

Expensive optional extras I think you'll find. What is standard is flashing glaring headlights an offensively loud horn & an accelerator pedal that only knows 2 positions, fast & extra fast, I suppose it could be 3 if you count not pressed !
