Re: need help overcomin fear of dentist

I don't have experience of the particular dentists you're talking about but please remember you can take it one step at a time. Ask the dentist about his/her qualifications (I doubt very much it will be a student), tell them you are nervous and want information on exactly what is involved before you get in the chair. It's unlikely that you will be their first nervous patient, so don't feel awkward, they probably see it every day. I think you will find that as an adult you can take more control of the situation than you might have been able to when you were 12. You never know, you might find the dentist more reassuring and helpful than you think.

wouldn't it be better for you if the dentist put you under? it saves your panicking and you get the job done....you might feel better for it, hope it all goes well

Oak House....Ace. Ask to be put under David Heeley, he is kind, patient and has a lovely way with very nervous patients.......How do I know? I was one, but not any more.

Still not back?
Looks like the fears were well founded.
