This could be handy

Drinking beetroot juice dramatically lowers risk of heart disease and strokes | Mail Online
Although I wasn't' aware you could ferment beetroot and make it into wine

Once scared myself witless one morning after my morning ablutions , had forgotten that I had eaten fresh beetroots as a side vegetable the previous night , guess beets are not fully digestable

Tell you what Garinda I wish everything else was as good as my blood pressure, that's something I have never had problems with. In fact only two weeks ago when a community matron took my blood pressure, she said, how come somebody with extensive chest problems has near perfect blood pressure

I wasn't meaning you, but someone who daily drank their own body weigh in beetroot juice.

I wonder if your result would have been different, if it had been a sexy young nurse, rather than Matron taking your blood pressure?

Re: This could be handy

I have low blood pressure, and I regularly include beetroot in my 'green smoothies'.
I don't eat tomatoes, so beetroot is a colourful addition to salads.
...a much underrated vegetable - it actually tastes nice.

I recently bought a bottle of beetroot juice but haven't opened it yet - saving it for a time when I may run out of the whole veg.

I've always liked beetroot Margaret, both fresh of pickled, in fact there are very few foods that I don't like really

Re: This could be handy

If that was a pic of a smoothie bar, it is understandable.
Most people own a blender or a juicer.

PS it is much easier to juice a pint of fruit and veg than spend an hour chewing through a pile of the stuff

They might well be smooth, and therefore more comfortable, but it's actually a photograph of red stools.

Re: This could be handy

I defy you to sit down with a knife and fork to eat -

2 apples, 4 plums,
1 large raw handful each of
.....spinach,
.....beetroot greens,
.....lettuce leaves,
.....kale
.....watercress or rocket
1 beetroot
3" piece of cucumber
all lightly seasoned with spirulina and ground apricot seeds
