vets

My cat has come in and seems to have hurt her leg shes not crying in pain but is limping i have checked her paws for obvious sores or things being stuck in her pads but nothing.

I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea at what the cost will be at the vets for her to have an x ray on her leg?

Just rang Mearley they said it's hard to say really,
depends how the animal is but if they need to use 1 plate (no idea what this is for)and anasthetic
then ya talking round the £100 mark but if it just needs sedating then it'll be cheaper

My cat had a broken leg 12 years ago and it cost about £200+ then, to have it fixed.
A few years later when he came home limping again- straight to the vet dreading the worst- but only to be told that he had been in a fight and had a tooth puncture wound on his leg.

Ahh right Margaret when your cat broke its leg was it in crying pain? its just trixie is limping but its not tender to touch i dont think its broken maybe she has pulled a muscle or something but i am going to ring the vets just to be on the safe side.

it sounds more like she has hurt her leg rather than broken it.

It wasn't crying either time.
But when the leg was broken it was very listless as though it was in severe pain.
When it had the puncture wound (hardly visible) it just limped but otherwise looked well

Hi mummiboo, we got fudge from you.... my dog was hit by a car a good few years ago,she was limping but didnt seem in pain 2 days later was fine so i think you would know if she had broken it.

Wait a couple of days and see how it is. Vets are nothing but bandits when it comes to pets. My neighbour paid a couple of hundred pounds to have a cats eye removed that had been damaged. It cost about £30 to have an eye removed from one of the hens in the park.

I think that is because hens are more docile than cats.
My cat had to have full anaesthetic and an overnight stay with the vet just to have tooth out.

I dont know how much they will charge but i have to say myerscough in ossy are great - my dogs cant wait to get in and the vets are so kind to them - and yes i know - i would be especially nice to clients paying sums of money but i have been to a few vets and they treat your pets like just another animal
and having had a sad situation with my dog -they could easily have said i need to opt for the operation for my dog and had me paying hundreds of pounds but instead they were honest and said she would be better off left as is. -many vets would "heavily advise" the op because at the end of the day it is money .

Any animal having its eye removed will be under anaesthetic. They charge more because they are pets so people will pay more
