Was talking to a friend who lives down south about our first year in secondary school and we started talking about the PC game 'granny's garden'.Does anyone else know this game?does anyone still play it?It was a really cr*p game but kept us amused for ages!
I have googled it but looks like you have to pay for it now OMG as if i would pay for it!.....aaah many an IT lesson pretending to work whilst playing grannys garden, the only good thing about our school pc's.

Re: Granny's garden?
I've never heard of the game. I thought this was going to be a thread about lovely old cottage gardens and sort of herbs and things my Granny used to grow and use for medicinal purposes.

Re: Granny's garden?
Ooh I wish I'd listened to her more. The one I always remember is comfrey which she called knitbone, used for sprains. She used to make a foul brew from the leaves which we soaked our ankles in and then wrapped the soggy leafy mess round the ankle with a bandage.

Re: Granny's garden?
Err....I believe that this is not a playground game, as played down south, but is in fact, an early computer game. As regards gardens up in Accy, most people didn't have 'em; they had back yards instead, which with luck had bogs and coal sheds. Proper stuff.

We had a bin hole and a drop in our back yard, coal went down coal hole into the cellar. I noticed when I was at Church they had Flagged over the coal holes. I take it they still have the cellars?

Re: Granny's garden?
My Gran had a thing she called her "front patch" and another thing n her yard which she called her "back patch".
Mind you. She didn't live in Accy.

Re: Granny's garden?
You can grow the herbs in small pots or a window box,the seeds are on sale at dare I say it Wilinsons, there is six different sorts in one packet, a small bag of compost and a bit of daylight pluss a pinch of 'TLC' bingo fresh herbs.
