No, the bus we used to see in Salisbury was more modern than the one in your picture, Wyn. Also it was in the 90s which was before that one was restored.

The first Corporation buses arrived in 1928 and to everyone's surprise they did not have the same livery as the Corporation's trams (bright red & pale cream with orange-brown roofs) Initially the buses were dark blue with red stripes ( as the East Lancs Regt) with black window frames. There is no mention of the colours in the Transport Dept minutes, so the theories cannot be confirmed, but it is widely believed by transport buffs such as the late Robert Rush.

Went to animal food store on main road Hapton on Friday11/11(what was Thornybank Collery)
and passing going towards Burnley was the double decker Accy bus looking great and going like the clappers.

Saw the old Accrington Red and Blue bus on the Burnley route today.

Yes...that would be right...I had just come out of the Post Office and was crossing over the road when the bus sailed into Avenue Parade(well, no of course it didn't sail).
