just read it and although not from the 50s myself (more 60s+) I recognise all those programs and yes flowerpot men. But I never gave a thought to who was behind the voices as that spoils the illusion. Brought back some nice thoughts though.. and as you say.. from a simpler time

a simpler time indeed and i'm still simple- used to love billnben not forgetting little weed, hell that does take you back,like kipax says though you never give a thought to the voice behind them.

There are some programmes that I don't recognize but I used to love Bill and Ben and the wooden tops.
Watch with mother brings back loads of memories.
Never gave the voice a thought though.
