washing

i saw somthing today that i havent seen for a long time,
washing hung out in a back street, i can remember when every monday morning all the backs full of washing, if you did that now it would be there one minute gone the next.

Mine gets hung in the back because my yard was covered to make a garage. You are quite right Tosh I have had stuff stolen but more name stuff of the kids.

I remember when washing was hung on the front street too...There was a line between two houses facing each other,,,and i remember my gran using a dolly blue to make her whites the cleanest,,,she wasent going to be shown up ,,,,, by her neighbours

If you want to see washing hung on the street have a trip to Todmorden.,Lots of it out that way and sheep in front gardens and the middle of the road.
