Help!!!

My anti virus software keeps detecting threats they're coming up every few minutes.

The file is: C:\WINDOWS\system32\x

and the threat detected is: a variant of WIN32/Conficker.AE worm

another one has just come up aswell but different file and threat name. The threat name always has the word 'worm' at the end!

A comment comes up aswell mentioning: Event occured on a new file created by the application C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe. The file was moved to quarantine. You may close this window.

Help please!

Whichever AV you have you need to make sure you have all the latest updates and give it a full scan for starters.

And DON'T E-MAIL ANYBODY!!!!

What about other things like Facebook etc...

I've installed that patch but is that just to prevent it?? It says nothing on the website about what to do if you have it.

If you do a full system scan you should be ok. I think it is more annoying than anything else as it gets everywhere!! It is classified as low risk iirc. In your original post you mentioned your AV was going crazy but it seems to have been moving it to quarentine too so don't worry too much - the AV is dealing with it.
You should be ok with facebook as your not sending it anywhere and there will be parameters in place for that occurence at their end.
