Re: Vista SP2 on its way to you

but if you have a 1 or 2 gig cap, adding 350Meg to what you already do will batter your allowance particularly those who use 3G dongles. In their case I'd turn off auto updates and take their laptops round to a friend who has no cap and do it there.

Re: Vista SP2 on its way to you

Vista service pack 2 is now available as an automatic update from Microsoft if you are on vista and have auto updates switched on you should get this soon i got mine this morning.
make sure you have service pack 1 first though
it downloaded and installed within 1 hour with no problems although it does say some people might have trouble with sound cards needing a separate update so beware if you don't have sound after the update

Re: Vista SP2 on its way to you

Typical Microsoft - we will upgrade you to the latest and greatest version of Vista but might make your fully functioning PC have no sound afterwards.

Minor correction Neil

microsoft takes your insecure PC and in fixing it potentially breaks the sound.
Problem here is they are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't.

Perhaps if manufacturers of hardware got together and agreed standards it would make everyones lifes better.

Imagine in the car world if tyres for Fords where a completely different fit to Vauxhall who were different to Citroen etc.
