AVG problem

I have been unable to update my AVG today -it tells me 'a.bin file is missing'.
I tried a system restore but that didn't cure it.
I uninstalled AVG and downloaded the basic version -still got the same message.
I then went onto my other PC which has not been used for over a week, and tried an AVG update on that - same message 'a.bin file is missing'

Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: AVG problem

it should be ok after the next update if AVG do it right
you dont need to reinstall AVG as the problem was with the antivirus update manager
so it should be ok later if up update then they should have sorted it DONT PANIC

Re: AVG problem

if you have AVG set to auto update your going to get that everytime it try's to get the update untill there is a new update that has the .bin file in it
its not spooky its part of AVG telling you there is a problem

Re: AVG problem

Don't panic (like me) who uninstalled it then reinstalled it after a few cans last night. Spoke to my brother this morning and everybody is having the same problem. Have now reinstalled it but am going to wait 'til tomorrow for an update. Yahoo answers have a fix for it, to late for me but may help others.

I know. The spooky thing was AVG popping up the message and it coinciding with me reading this thread. Check out the rest of the screen contents...

Re: AVG problem

Avg are at it again today - "a bin file is missing"
At least we know what to do now - nothing! - just wait for them to correct their update
