Re: Windows Eight

I would say that home was perfectly fine for any normal user

Neil. What happens if you wish to reinstall? do you get to download a copy and use the key again?

EDIT: Am I missing something. is this on DVD? I had thought it was some kind of download

Not sure Restless, but I think you can ask for the disk, I did once, but it is a while ago and can't remember what it was now, but it was to do with Windows

Its says its a DVD but I know nothing about the upgrade process or how you prove you have a legit copy of Vista sorry

Re: Windows Eight

I guess it just integrates all your old files and updates the old system. A slightly different installer on the dvd perhaps? The fact they justify having to pay £50 more for a 'full' version is mystifying me

hmm proving legit copy. Key is on the laptop right? most likely that key that isn't rapidly used by 1000's of IP Addresses via distributed copied versions and who in their right mind would install vista now?

Re: Windows Eight

I suppose its ok to download a of 7 from somewhere if you reinstall it if dell didn't provide you with a disc? the product key should be included on the tower or desktop somewhere. Unfortunately you cant use the vista key on 7 but m$ should allow that for for the mistake that is vista

To my knowledge Restless Dell always supply a disk when you buy a computer, I fact I've lent mine to some AW members so they could reinstall on their systems

Re: Windows Eight

yeah I got vista home with my laptop... haha I gave it away and don't want it back.

My digicam doesn't like my memory card so I can't make a video(and they want £130 to fix my htc sensation )

but here is a pretty good video demonstrating windows 8

Thanks for that Rob - really wanted to watch the video but the guy was speaking so fast I couldn't follow what he was saying! Sounded like a record played at the wrong speed.

BTW I'm glad you didn't leave Accyweb as you threatened to - as I said before, think you have a lot to contribute.
