MORE than 200 Everton fans were stranded at Liverpool John Lennon airport today when their Bucharest-bound flight failed to turn up.They should have lifted off at 7.30am to watch the Blues in their UEFA Cup tie with Dinamo Bucharest.
But their carrier, Air Scandic, went bust yesterday.Frantic attempts to provide cover resulted in Viking Air pledging to provide a replacement aircraft which should have flown in from East Midlands airport. But by noon today no plane had arrived.Jonathan Deus, 23, an estate agent from Mossley Hill, was booked on the flight with his brother James. He said: "There has been no-one to tell us what is going on. After they told us the plane had been delayed again at 8.30 all kinds of rumours started flying around."
A spokesman for Viking Air handling agent Servisair said he was still waiting for news from East Midlands.
Meanwhile Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright tried to help the situation by sending the Clubs private Jet (See below) however for some reason this failed to appease the angry crowd !! Y.N.W.A
